It’s interesting that people will go so far out of their way to point out the hypocrisy in your life if you’re vegan, like vegans are the only beings capable of contradiction and the absolute worst kind of contradiction at that. I mean you can rise to power advocating peace while bombing the fuck out of foreign countries, that’s cool man, but claim to be vegan and accidentally step on a slug and we’ll riot so hard I swear to god.
"Women aren’t raised in a culture that tells them they’re entitled to attention from men. We’re told instead that we have to earn it. And one reliable way of earning positive attention from men is to bash other women, especially women who speak out against sexism.”
“Excuse sexist behavior from men - get to be told you’re the exception. You’re not like those other girls, the bitchy ones. You’re special."

Feed it back to the hens. I and many other vegans try to really hammer that fact in, that hens a) lose nutrients during the egg-laying process and b) would benefit in health from consuming eggs more than humans would. Yet a lot of the time I don’t feel like anyone’s really listening. No matter how nice we are to hens, no matter whether we saved them from a harder life or bought them as a companion animal in the first place, animals do not exist for our use. We won’t die without eggs, on the contrary, we’re much better off without the added saturated fats and cholesterol offered by animal products.
People bring the question “but what about eggs from happy hens?” around too often because they’re still thinking in terms of animal welfare, rather than animal rights. The distinction between the two is very important, and we should be careful to not let welfarist ideology colour our interaction with other species.
I painted this in my dream last night and so it had to happen out of my dream, too. The photo is not as good as the original. The colours are more vivid on canvas. Anyway, I want to do bigger canvas more often (this is 50x70cm). It’s fun.
Anonymous asked: I really don't understand your blog and what you say about things. Just stop.
Do me a favor…………………….
I don’t hate non-fat people. I hate when they try to speak over me.
Does body shaming happen to people of all sizes? YES.
Does body shaming happen in equal amounts and intensity in both fat and non-fat bodies? NOPE!
Are you allowed to speak about the body bullying you have experienced? Absolutely.
Is the appropriate time to speak about this bullying on a post about the institutionalized hatred of fat bodies? NOPE!
I don’t want to hear ‘but thin people…’ because I already know. I know you experience hate too. I encourage you to speak up about it.However, I also encourage you to learn the difference between speaking up and speaking over.
How right you are is proven by my intent to reblog this saying “but thin people blablabla” and I apologize for even having this thought before I got my shit together. I’m going to remember this post.
