veganpowers-activate:

It’s interesting that people will go so far out of their way to point out the hypocrisy in your life if you’re vegan, like vegans are the only beings capable of contradiction and the absolute worst kind of contradiction at that. I mean you can rise to power advocating peace while bombing the fuck out of foreign countries, that’s cool man, but claim to be vegan and accidentally step on a slug and we’ll riot so hard I swear to god.

"Women aren’t raised in a culture that tells them they’re entitled to attention from men. We’re told instead that we have to earn it. And one reliable way of earning positive attention from men is to bash other women, especially women who speak out against sexism.”

“Excuse sexist behavior from men - get to be told you’re the exception. You’re not like those other girls, the bitchy ones. You’re special."

soycrates:

Feed it back to the hens. I and many other vegans try to really hammer that fact in, that hens a) lose nutrients during the egg-laying process and b) would benefit in health from consuming eggs more than humans would. Yet a lot of the time I don’t feel like anyone’s really listening. No matter how nice we are to hens, no matter whether we saved them from a harder life or bought them as a companion animal in the first place, animals do not exist for our use. We won’t die without eggs, on the contrary, we’re much better off without the added saturated fats and cholesterol offered by animal products.
People bring the question “but what about eggs from happy hens?” around too often because they’re still thinking in terms of animal welfare, rather than animal rights. The distinction between the two is very important, and we should be careful to not let welfarist ideology colour our interaction with other species.

The uneasy sky
I painted this in my dream last night and so it had to happen out of my dream, too. The photo is not as good as the original. The colours are more vivid on canvas. Anyway, I want to do bigger canvas more often (this is 50x70cm). It’s fun.

I don’t hate non-fat people. I hate when they try to speak over me.

unapologeticfatty:

Does body shaming happen to people of all sizes? YES.

Does body shaming happen in equal amounts and intensity in both fat and non-fat bodies? NOPE!

Are you allowed to speak about the body bullying you have experienced? Absolutely.

Is the appropriate time to speak about this bullying on a post about the institutionalized hatred of fat bodies? NOPE!

I don’t want to hear ‘but thin people…’ because I already know. I know you experience hate too. I encourage you to speak up about it.However, I also encourage you to learn the difference between speaking up and speaking over.

How right you are is proven by my intent to reblog this saying “but thin people blablabla” and I apologize for even having this thought before I got my shit together. I’m going to remember this post.

I just saw a man say that objectification of women = female privilege.

They have no clue. Men like this honestly believe that being objectified is a positive thing because they equate it with women having their pick of sexual partners, rather than being reduced to one dimension on a way that is threatening and inappropriate more often than it is flattering.
Basically, they have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Omg this is what that fucker said:

Yes objectification is a privilege, and an immense burden the scope of which I can’t personally relate to but which I can try to understand…at, like, the same time. If this hasn’t ever occurred to you, you are precisely the type woman I’m speaking of when I say ‘you people’ are awesome at being completely blind to your own privilege.

I have little hope that as a man who is being critical of this community and its support of the “Nice Guys of OK Cupid” site that I will convince you that being objectified is in fact also a privilege…but maybe you will get some glimpse of this notion if you read the comments of the women who’ve responded to my post by falsely claiming that they know what it’s like to have no one want to have sex with them because men don’t ever approach them. Or in the few comments in Jezebel articles about how awful coffee shop guys are or catcalling in which some women criticize the posters for acting as though it’s the reality of all women and that as hard as it is to deal with unwanted approaches it also really sucks to never get approached at all.

Women who feel ignored (which is not the same as no one wanting to fuck you) seem to think that sucks pretty bad, and while neither them nor I would like to be cornered in a parking garage by a sexual assailant, we both apparently find it a bit irritating when you go on and on and on about how awful it is that someone whistled at you as though it would be so great if that never happened…when it fact it really sucks for those of us to whom it never does.

This fucker is treating women as a means to an end. Men want sex. Women are the orifices used for sex. Thus women, who have the ability to reject male sexual advantages = have privilege.

THE FUCK IS THAT????

And YES IT WOULD BE GOOD IF I NEVER GOT CATCALLED EVER AGAIN.

I would rather NEVER GET CATCALLED EVER AGAIN.

I would LIKE TO FEEL SAFE WALKING DOWN THE STREET

I would like to BE LEFT ALONE WHEN I AM ON THE BUS

I WOULD LIKE TO NOT BE TOLD THAT SOMEONE WHO I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHO THEY ARE WOULD JUST LOVE TO LICK THE LINING OUT OF MY PUSSY

BUT ACCORDING TO THIS JACKASS, THAT’S A FUCKIN PRIVILEGE.

Wow. WOW. That’s like saying, “Listen, I would LOVE a hug every now and then, so why don’t you STFU about getting stuck in that trash compactor.” Also I can’t believe no one wants to be with you bro, you are SUCH a compassionate charmer.

^^^^ Hahahah omg the trash compactor analogy is hilarious

(TW: talk of suicide)

And you know what the sad thing is?

As a vulnerable teenage girl I was so convinced that beauty was important that I literally wanted to commit suicide over how ugly I was

And part of that was knowing that I was so ugly that any validation was good validation

So even street harassment would be ‘positive’ in that context because at least someone would appreciate how I looked

Patriarchy has us so brainwashed that beauty is important that women ACCEPT male harassment and intimidation because at least someone doesn’t think they’re ugly

The most successful aspect of patriarchy is that it has women policing each other and themselves.
I can’t remember the exact quote, but the male gaze is so powerful that we all have men ‘looking in’ in our brains. We don’t see ourselves as we are - we ourselves through the lens of men looking at us.

So it’s not just ignorance that men say that street harassment is flattering. It’s an unconscious investment for them to keep us policing ourselves and keep us deluded that ANY male attention is a good thing, no matter how creepy or disrespectful or harassing.

reblogging for the last comment especially.

How about we stop reducing cancer to food related only (to push veganism?) and see it as it is? A clusterfuck of unhealthy lifestyle that industry nations brought upon us all?
The biggest source for cancer is still radioactivity. Most of our food is poisoned with radioactivity. And then you got nice stuff like fruit & veggie low diets (fast food and sugar poison), GMOs, environmental pollution, synthetic materials, drug abuse (I’m including medicine in drug abuse), HAARP, other low frequency non-ionizing radiation. The list goes on.
Monsato is not your worst enemy. Monsato is only one symptom of globalized systematically health destruction/depopulation. It’s time to realize this and stop protesting Monsato only (I know that was not the point of this pic but I’m sure it’s what many people think of when it’s all “start with your diet”).
